Ekebyholm Castle

Ekebyholm Castle is a castle in Sweden.
==List of owners of Ekebyholm estate==
Ekebyholm in Rimbo (currently a part of Norrtälje) was attached with the estate of Mörby, owned by the Pomeranian-originated family of Slaveka.
From the mists of medieval history, emerges:
* Johannes Claussen Slaveka, lord of Steninge and Mörby (dc 1485)
* Mereta Johansdotter (d 1533 or 1523), and her husband Benedict Kristiernson av Salsta (d 1495)
* heir: Kristiern Bengtson av Steninge (beheaded on 8 November 1520, predeceased his mother)
* baron Gabriel Kristiernson av Steninge (c1508-1585)
* third son, baron Benedict Gabrielson Ochsenstern, lord of Mörby (d 1591)
after him, the estates of Mörby and Ekebyholm were separated, the first-mentioned passing to his elder son, and Ekebyholm passing to the youngest, posthumous son:
* baron Benedict Bengtson Oxenstierna, 'Traveller-Benkt' (1591-1643) who had a palace built in Ekebyholm, so-called castle of Ekebyholm
* his full sister: baroness Siri Oxenstierna (d 1644) and her husband, baron Klaus Horn (1587-1651)
* her second-eldest son: Field Marshal, baron Benedict Horn (1623-1678)
* brigadier, baron Krister Horn (c1655-1740) and his siblings, who quarreled with one another, and in early 1700s sold the castle and estate
in the 1710s went through several short-term owners
* in 1724, count Arvi Horn, Premier of Sweden (1664-1742), an agnatic kinsman of the barons Horn though not a descendant of the Slaveka family, purchased the estate and palace, it giving him the domain element to his comital title
* count Adam Horn (1717-1778) and his siblings, who in 1746 sold Ekebyholm to king's concubine, their kinswoman
* Reichsgräfin Katriina Ebba Horn (1720-1781) not a descendant of the Slaveka family
* her brother: count Kustavi Aadolf Horn (1721-1793) not a descendant of the Slaveka family
* count Kustavi Aadolf Horn (1754-1816) and his brother count Klaus Horn (1755-1823)
* Their heirs sold Ekebyholm in 1828 to baron Karl Gabriel Oxenstierna. The last Horn born in Ekebyholm castle was: conde don Fernando Horn (1828-1901), one of grandsons of the last-mentioned Kustavi Aadolf. Don Fernando, Count Horn, died in Mexico in 1901 after an adventurous life.
* baron Karl Gabriel Oxenstiena
* his daughter, in marriage countess Hamilton
* ...
* in 1932, the Adventist school purchased Ekebyholm
